This past September I went on a retreat at the Omega Institute in New York and came back with a small book on Prayer by Thich Nhat Hanh. In it he shares a meditation exercise involving smiling. It has become part of my morning practice. Elsewhere I also found this quote attributed to him: "Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy." And I'm sure many of us have experienced that one's smile can be the source of joy for others, too. We will explore this theme of smiling and, hopefully, come away with some smiles!
About the presenter: Who knows what awaits! I never would have anticipated that after 26 years in the Army, I would graduate from Hartford Seminary, be ordained at Tree of Life, work as hospice chaplain, and - most recently - travel to Poland to help with Ukrainian refugees. Helps to keep smiling!
